I am about to upgrade to Debian 13 (Trixie) but have two questions before proceeding:

1. Is this upgrade guide safe to use? Asking because it has a warning saying not to apply it. If this isn't the right guide, any suggestions for an alternative?

2. For SOGo, I'm currently using nightly builds. I think with Trixie, the iRedMail project is switching to the Debian package version of SOGo. What do I need to change to make the switch?

Still looking for a response on this. On [1], I think it's OK to proceed per a previous message in this thread.

On [2], is it really as simple as installing the sogo package from Debian Trixie and disabling the nightly build repo when doing apt checks?

I've tried to fix it... but yeah. I'm not good enough ;D

I've now completed the switch to Trixie. Everything seems to be working fine so far.

But I found the following in the mail log

I've checked the Database and there arent such tables (see attachement 1)

But in the old dovecot.conf there is an identical entry... o.o I dont know.. but maybe its got lost in the postgres migration to v17? T_T

I thought I added the information in the hosts file about the pointer to the locahost and it was not the case.

I added  '127.0.0.1 webmail.<mydomain.ext>' in the hosts file and all went fine.

I have set my own DNS on this server and in the 'hosts' file I also set lines like '127.0.0.1 webmail.<mydomain.ext>'.

So I would like to be able to have a nginx virtualhost set in the /etc/nginx/sites-available that can serve the URL request http://webmail.<mydomain.ext> to display the SOGo login web page like the URL http://<myservername>.<mydomain.ext>/SOGo that we obtain from the iRedMail installation of SOGo groupware.

In Apache web server on my old server I have a virtualhost that is configured exactly as the sogo.tmpl file located in the /etc/nginx/templates folder created after iRedMail installation on the new server.

I tried to use this template file to create a new virtualhost pointing to webmail.<mydomain.ext> but the browser cannot display anything, it keeps wainting for something to display but hangs with nothing after one minute. If I try to display the code obtained by CTRL+U, the page shows nothing.
It's like if the SOGo groupware was not responding at all.

That's why I also tried to create a virtualhost with proxypass command or rewrite command to redirect the http://webmail.<mydomain.ext> URL to the working one http://<myservername>.<mydomain.ext>/SOGo/

If you have a clue on one of those possibilities, let me know.

I will keep trying to get it work meanwhile and will post my solution if I find one.

Do you have an example of a nginx virtualhost configuration that would work for http://webmail.<mydomain.ext>/ to access the SOGo groupware?

I use cloudflare and turn on proxy for the CNAME record "webmail" , is it the same result you are looking for?
