When the auto-renewal tried to run, it didn’t seem to update the certificate, and both webmail and SMTP started throwing certificate errors.
I checked the logs under /var/log/letsencrypt/ but I didn’t see any obvious error messages, just that renewal was attempted but no new cert was deployed.

How did you request ssl certificate? Use the command line tool "certbot", or the builtin cert management offered by EE?
Does it report any error?
