Maybe somebody want to put this [HOWTO] Configure Mailman on CentOS/RHEL 5 to the wiki or even provide some patches to the main irm-tree?

We have only one edition of iRedMail, it's free and open source. There's no iRedMail-Pro.

iRedMail has a simple built-in mail list implementation, but it's not a true mailing list, it's something like alias account.

ok, I filled a subscription request to Gmane ... usually takes a week or so until the admins review and grant it. It then looks like this http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.mailmanager.user (mailman here).

Also, one can use his Newsreader (e.g. Gnus) to read and post via Gmane which has the benefit of a unique user interface as opposed to deal with any mailing list individually.

Speaking of Mailman ... I figure we do not have a mailing list yes? There is this forum plus the IRC channel (#iredmail on freenode) but no mailing list (correct me if I am wrong).

I say we sould opt to have a mailing list since a forum is somewhat a "fat" choice for discussing things. Once we have a mailing list, I can subscribe it to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmane which is good because even folks who join later, can access emails that were send to the list in the past. I have done it for many free software projects already.

No plan yet.

But you can find many docs in google about how to integrate mailman with postfix. it works as expect.

Patches for iRedMail are always welcome.

PS: LDAP solution has built-in mail list support, and iRedAdmin can manage it.

It's not integrated so smoothly, so we removed it TEMPORARILY. but we don't know when we will re-integrate it.

I just skimmed over the changelog and for iRedMail-0.4.0 it says: Remove package: cyrus-sasl, mailman.

Why was Mailman removed as an optional part when installing iRedMail? imo having the possibility of installing a mailing list manager is quite important.
