Thinking about this but not yet decided:

- Replace iRedMail installer by Ansible-like tool and playbook for initial deploy and further upgrade? Same tool and playbook as iRedMail Enterprise Edition, with one-command (CLI) and one-click (web) upgrade support, no more step-by-step upgrade manually.
- Replace iRedAPD by milter program developed by iRedMail team?

SOGo team released v5.12.8 on May 12, "Four major vulnerabilities have been reported and fixed in this version 5.12.8 or since the nightly of the 8th of May 2026: sogo_5.12.7.20260508." "Those vulnerabilities affect any previous SOGO version. Please update as soon as possible."

General way to upgrade it is running commands below:

For CentOS / Rocky / AlmaLinux

yum clean all
yum update -y "sogo*" "*sope*"
systemctl restart sogo

For Debian/Ubuntu

apt update
apt install --only-upgrade -y "sogo*" "*sope*"
systemctl restart sogod

For iRedMail Enterprise Edition

- Login to EE as global admin
- Click "Components" on left sidebar
- Click "Re-deploy" button right beside SOGo component
- Click "Apply Now" on bottom-right corner, then toggle on option "Update software to latest version if available" on popup modal window
- Click "Apply".

Is EE also open source?

iRedMail Enterprise Edition (EE) v1.7.3 has been released, with Golang security fixes. All customers are recommended to upgrade as soon as possible.

I had to run

pip install python-multipart

...and then re-run the

Running pip install is a bad thing to do on a Debian based system.

I changed the contents of my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sogo-nightly.list to

deb https:packagingv2.sogo.nu/sogo-nightly-debian/ trixie main

After that I did an apt full-upgrade

This command installs the new sogo packages for debian 13.

I am running nginx as webserver and sogo did not work as expected after the upgrade. I found out that the sogo templates in /etc/nginx/templates pointed to the wrong directories.

In sogo.tmpl I commented out the old config and added the new config:
