Topic: Ubuntu 11.04 for iRedMail

==== Provide basic information to help troubleshoot ====
- iRedMail version: 0.7.2
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:  Ubuntu 11.04
- Any related log? Log is helpful for troubleshooting.
====

   I like to know whether Ubuntu Server 11.04 (Natty) is suitable for production use (i.e install & use it as a iRedMail server.) Though 10.04 LTS is the recommended version for iRedMail, I want to know whether it will be safe to use 11.04. If anyone running iRedMail on 11.04 please share your opinion.

What i can tell is, iRedMail works fine on Ubuntu 11.04.x, but we recommend LTS edition for mail server.
Waiting for others' opinions.

Re: Ubuntu 11.04 for iRedMail

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 in a mail server hosted in Amazon EC2 services.

My server currently is in test environment, I will deploy it to production next week.

Until now, I found some minor bugs, except for the fail2ban not working because a incorrect timezone config, but this is more a server installation issue than a iRedMail one.

All issues I posted here in the forums, search for my messages.

I agree with Huang, LTS version is recommended for a long running server, as it's support is a long term, but I prefer to stay on the edge.

All my new findings I'll post here in the forum.

Thanks for your replies. Am stuck with a latest Dell Machine where the only Linux OS I can install is Ubuntu 11.04. That's only I asked this question.
