Topic: iRedMail-0.8.0-beta1 has been released, with PostgreSQL support

Dear all,

iRedMail-0.8.0-beta1 is now available for testing, you can download it here: iRedMail-0.8.0-beta1.tar.bz2. We need your help to test it on all supported Linux/BSD distributions, especially test on Ubuntu 11.04/11.10 to make PostgreSQL backend stable.

NOTE: Please do NOT install beta releases on production server, there's no upgrade tutorials available for beta releases.

Major changes since iRedMail-0.7.4 are:

  • You can now choose to store mail accounts and application data in PostgreSQL database. NOTE: PostgreSQL backend is available on only Ubuntu 11.04, 11.10.

  • Upgrade Roundcube webmail to the latest stable release 0.7.1.

Known issues of iRedMail-0.8.0-beta1:

  • Webui of Policyd-2 (code name 'cluebringer') is not enabled by default.

  • Awstats is not accessible by default.

Both issues are related to Apache auth module: libapache2-mod-auth-pgsql. We cannot restrict web access with global domain admin with it, so they're disabled by default temporally.

There will be 2 or 3 beta releases available soon for new features:

  • SpamAssassin bayesian filter and auto-learning

  • PostgreSQL support in iRedAdmin, both open source edition and iRedAdmin-Pro

We need your help to make iRedMail work on Arch Linux also, please refer to this post:
