Topic: Call for volunteers: sub-projects of iRedMail and improvements

Dear users,

It's too hard for me to achieve them all, so i public all possible sub-projects and improvements here, if you're interested in one or some of them, you can start to work on it. Let's make iRedMail better.

New distributions, new components, improvements

Below items should be achieved in iRedMail core script sets directly.

  • Support more distros: Arch Linux? Slackware? Gentoo? NetBSD?

  • Nginx support. Not replace Apache, just another choice. Ngnix could be a load-balance proxy too.

  • Policyd-2.x support.

  • PostgreSQL support. We must have policyd-v2 running first, because policyd-1.x supports only MySQL.

Solutions

Below items should be provided as wiki tutorials.

  • Mail Archive, Backup, Recovery

  • Fail-over cluster. Heartbeat + DRBD, Red Hat Cluster Suite + DRBD, etc.

  • Load-balance cluster. Use nginx as IMAP/POP3/SMTP/WEB proxy and dispatcher.

  • Server monitor based on Nagios/Cacti/etc.

  • Anti-spam gateway. Deploy and customize iRedMail as an anti-spam gateway server.

Integrations

Below items should be provided as wiki tutorials.

  • Samba integration. Based on iRedMail + OpenLDAP backend.

  • PureFTPd integration.

  • SOGo Groupware integration

  • Ejabberd integration

----

Spider Email Archiver: On-Premises, lightweight email archiving software developed by iRedMail team. Supports Amazon S3 compatible storage and custom branding.
