Topic: Fresh iRedMail 0.7.4 install on latest Ubuntu 10.04 LTS = postfix fail
Hello everybody,
I have just installed iRedMail 0.7.4 on a daily generated Ubuntu 10.04 LTS system.
( using this iso : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server … r-i386.iso )
During installation (I selected a bare installation, only openSSH server) the installer now asks for Postfix configuration.
(I had done a similar install 2 weeks ago and if I remember, the postfix question was not asked by the installer, and iRedMail worked fine)
So I chose "no configuration" for postfix.
Then after installing iRedMail, postfix does not work well :
...
Mar 2 18:55:27 mx postfix/local[1710]: fatal: open database /etc/aliases.db: No such file or directory
Mar 2 18:55:28 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/local pid 1710 exit status 1
Mar 2 18:55:28 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/local: bad command startup -- throttling
Mar 2 18:56:28 mx postfix/local[1712]: fatal: open database /etc/aliases.db: No such file or directory
Mar 2 18:56:29 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/local pid 1712 exit status 1
Mar 2 18:56:29 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/local: bad command startup -- throttling
Mar 2 18:57:29 mx postfix/local[1714]: fatal: open database /etc/aliases.db: No such file or directory
Mar 2 18:57:30 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/local pid 1714 exit status 1
Mar 2 18:57:30 mx postfix/master[1439]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/local: bad command startup -- throttling
Looks like a conflict of postfix configuration...
I have yet to retry a fresh installation of Ubuntu, without the postfix package installed (or do an apt-get purge postfix before installing iRedMail)
Can somebody confirm the same problem?
