Re: Postfix warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

Can you help me how?

Re: Postfix warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

You can start Policyd service with init script:

- on RHEL/CentOS/Scientific Linux/openSUSE: /etc/init.d/policyd
- on Debian/Ubuntu: /etc/init.d/postfix-policyd or postfix-cluebringer
- on FreeBSD: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/postfix-policyd-sf

For example, on CentOS:

# /etc/init.d/policyd restart

Re: Postfix warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

If you got same error message, please check Policyd log file to see why it cannot start. Its log file is the same as Postfix log file.

Postfix log file is different on different OS. For example:

Re: Postfix warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

I noticed the same problem on my new iRedMail install on Debian Squeeze yesterday.

Apr 19 12:20:21 molensteen postfix/smtpd[15634]: warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

Turns out the "postfixpolicyd" database in MySQL didn't have any tables in it. After attempting to run the the MySQL creation script for postfix-policyd, it reported errors in the SQL (which I must have missed during install, and the install didn't exit with an error).
The related file for Debian is "/usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/postfix-policyd/install/mysql". Every table in that script is created using

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS policy (
  _rcpt char(60) NOT NULL default '',
  _optin tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL default '1',
  _priority tinyint(1) unsigned NOT NULL default '0',
  UNIQUE KEY _rcpt (_rcpt,_optin)
) TYPE=MyISAM;

"TYPE=MyISAM;" is not valid and should read "ENGINE=MyISAM;"
---
(EDIT: "TYPE=" is deprecated since MySQL 4.1)
---

The same applies to all table creations in that SQL file. After this "fix", all tables were created successfully
and the

warning: connect to 127.0.0.1:10031: Connection refused

disappeared after restarting postfix-policyd.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: some extra info on what I'm running

* Debian Squeeze (6.0.4, 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP)
* iRedMail-0.7.4
* MySQL 5.5 (the dotdeb version, 5.5.23-1~dotdeb.0)

If that question was directed at me, see my previous post. Updated it with some version info.
