what to change so imap/pop3 login isnt forced to be ssl/tls - but optional.

i know its more secure the other way - but in a period when transfering domains to new server and advicing customers on how to change to ssl/tsl we have to be able to make it optional.

is it either on or off, or can i make it optional?

Re: how to make SSL/TLS optional on pop3/imap

Clients are forced to use POP3/IMAP over TLS by default, but you can make it optional by following this tutorial:
http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … t.STARTTLS

Again, it's strongly recommended to use TLS for secure communication, maybe it (domain transfer) is a good chance to force your clients to do so.
