I have setup outbound to port 587 with startTLS and normal password.  Says "invalid username / password"

Is IP address '8.8.8.8' owned by you? As i remember, it's Google's public DNS server (with another IP address: 8.8.4.4).

Message "connection refused" means server doesn't listen on port 25 or it rejects connection in firewall.

I changed these IP's for an example.  I have the real ones and still get that error only when using a client

Did you use full email address as username?
