HI all the imap accounts have problems archiving emails I have tested this with different domains, I don't see any error message in any log files,

when attempting to archive email everything goes well in outlook, but the problem is outlook only creates the folder structure and does not archive any of the email

have any one had this problem at the moment I need to increase there quota to keep them going as that's the only way I have out now

could anyone please help.

*) Sorry, what does the "archive mail" mean? Is it just moving email to another IMAP folder?

*) Please turn on debug mode in Dovecot (POP3/IMAP server) first, then try to archive email with Outlook again, check whether there's any related error message in Dovecot log file (/var/log/dovecot.log and /var/log/sieve.log). Reference: http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … In.Dovecot

Hi

WE using Microsoft outlook to access emails, now some accounts has already reached the quota .

how out has a feature called "Archive" which will basically move old emails from the server and store it in a local folder on the computer there for freeing up space on the server,

I didn't see any error message on the log you pasted.

No idea yet, sorry. Not sure how "Archive" in Outlook works, does it require Exchange server? or just a client (Outlook) operation?

yip there are no error messages in any logs

Archive is a normal operation in outlook does not need exchange

It doesn't seem dovecot (iRedMail) related problem... I would blame Outlook... following could help:
