Topic: Can't get through install.

- iRedMail version: 0.8.4
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): Mysql
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: debian 7 x64

After going through bash, it starts intalling but crashes here:

Setting up mysql-server-5.1 (5.1.66-0+squeeze1) ...
Stopping MySQL database server: mysqld.
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld . . . . . . . . . . . . . . failed!

I already have lampp running, if that somehow helps

As clearly mentioned in our installation guide: http://www.iredmail.org/install_iredmail_on_debian.html

WARNING: iRedMail is designed to be deployed on a FRESH server system, which means your server does NOT have mail related components installed, e.g. MySQL, OpenLDAP, Postfix, Dovecot, Amavisd, etc. Otherwise it may override your existing files/configurations althought it will backup files before modifing, and it may be not working as expected.

Ok, So I'll start again in a fresh server. How can I recover prefious files/configurations?

Excuse me, what do you mean "previous files/configurations"?
iRedMail didn't start installation process at all, so no iRedMail related config files on your server.

Ok, sorry. I actually got through the installation, but messed up my configuration. I actually managed to unsinstall iredmail and also reconfigure my site again. The previous answer was before all that happened. Now I'll try to get it working on a fresh server.

BY the way, where could I find prefious files/configurations when iredmail was installed?
