Hi,

I set up iRedMail yesterday and all went without a hitch (except for it putting that index.html file with the redirect in my root website directory???).

I've set up an account with it and had it send an email with no problem however am unable to receive.

I assume this is some kind of DNS issue. I have tried to follow the instructions here - http://code.google.com/p/iredmail/wiki/DNS_DKIM

However to be honest the instructions there don't really make sense to someone who is quite new to Linux, web hosting and email.

Is there a way to check where the fault lies and how to resolve it?

Thanks,
Steve

Re: iRedMail Can Send but not Receive

Can you access the webmail interfaces outside your network?
If you can't it is likely a DNS issue. Do you own/registered your domain name?
If so, you should put MX records of your email domain on your Domain Name server.

Re: iRedMail Can Send but not Receive

Hi nerdtron,

Yes - it can be accessed from outside the network. The server is hosted remotely anyway so all access to the webmail/admin panel is effectively done from outside the network that its on.

The domain is registered, when I'm at home this evening (don't have the password here) I'll put up a screenshot showing how the DNS on it is configured.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: iRedMail Can Send but not Receive

As promised I've attached a screenshot of the DNS management offered by 123-reg.co.uk

The 'open' one is what I tried to set up while following this guide - http://code.google.com/p/iredmail/wiki/DNS_DKIM

Not sure if I've done it correctly.

Cheers

DKIM record is wrong.
The "DNS ENTRY" must be "dkim._domainkey" in your case, not "@domain.com".

Hi,

Is it literally "dkim._domainkey" or does domainkey stand for something?

Sorry for the stupid questions...

Thanks,
Steve

Literally. We hard-code it in Amavisd, so please just add it literally.

Re: iRedMail Can Send but not Receive

Hi,

Sorry it's been a while since I posted but other things have distracted me from this.

It's still not working - are there any further things that I can try?

Thanks
Steve
