Hi there,

Clients have reported that email from verizon.net email addresses is being blocked:

Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

      Recipient address: user@iredmail.server
Reason: Remote SMTP server has rejected address
Diagnostic code: smtp;554 5.7.1 <vms173005pub.verizon.net>: Helo command rejected: Go away, bad guy
      Remote system: dns;iredmail.server (TCP|206.46.173.5|45192|iredmail.server.ip.address|25) (iredmail.server.helo ESMTP Postfix)

This would appear to be because of this line in /etc/postfix/helo_access.pcre:

/verizon\.net$/             REJECT Go away, bad guy

I know I can comment this line out to allow this mail through. However, I'd like to understand why mail servers using verizon.net in the HELO command are blocked. Assuming that vms173005pub.verizon.net is a legitimate Verizon SMTP server delivering legitimate email (unfortunately I can't find a list of these somewhere), is the inclusion of verizon.net in "helo_access.pcre" perhaps outdated?

Thanks.

Craig
