In rare ocasions we face strange issue one of our customers cannot sent/receive messages.
It takes about hour or two. Then he can send/receive messages normally.
Customer has couple mailboxes and in most cases uses Outlook (2010).

Is this client's IP address blocked in iptables? If yes, this client may produce several password failures and Fail2ban invokes iptables to ban it.

Restarting iptables and Fail2ban service should fix it temporarily.

Yes, seems that fail2ban was blocking IP for 1 hour after unsuccesfull login attempts.
