When I make a change to main.cf then issue service postfix restart and then do a postconf -d I do not see any of the changes take hold. I've tried about a dozen settings to see if they would update and they are not. Are there any files that may be overriding main.cf?

Please disregard. I should be using postconf -n and not -d. Sorry about that.
