Topic: ClamAV WARNING: Local version: 0.98 Recommended version: 0.98.1

Running iRedMail-0.8.5 on RHEL 6.4 in AWS, using MySQL for storage

In my primary account I receive the following every day in logwatch now:

WARNING: Local version: 0.98 Recommended version: 0.98.1

Full error log:

--------------------- clam-update Begin ------------------------

Last ClamAV update process started at Wed Jan 15 03:40:06 2014

It seems to be ignorable, but then on the other hand, seems to affect the ability to receive mail to some degree now, where accounts were completely able to before.  Trying

yum update clamav

says

Loaded plugins: amazon-id, rhui-lb, security
Setting up Update Process
No Packages marked for Update

Uninstalling and reinstalling seems to just do the same thing.  I'm guessing there isn't a package for the latest version for this Linux Repo yet; but there aren't great instructions on how to build from scratch, and whether that would even simply "plug in" to the current setup without breaking it.

The only other confusing thing I see in the log relates to Amavisd:

--------------------- Amavisd-new Begin ------------------------

**Unmatched Entries**

        1   No decoder for       .doc
1   No ext program for   .rar, tried: unrar, rar
        1   Deleting db files nanny.db,__db.002,__db.003,__db.001,__db.004,snmp.db in /var/spool/amavisd/db
1   No ext program for   .doc, tried: ripole
        1   (30208-01) Passed CLEAN {RelayedInternal}, MYUSERS <root@mail.(mydomain)> -> <root@mail.(mydomain)>, Message-ID: <20140115083004.34C8124436@mail.(mydomain)>, mail_id: M1QlK45hLFBB, Hits: 0, size: 2065, queued_as: 952692450C, 1228 ms

---------------------- Amavisd-new End -------------------------

Hard to read this one; not sure if this is reporting an error or if this is standard output for Amavisd logs.

Re: ClamAV WARNING: Local version: 0.98 Recommended version: 0.98.1

Please use ClamAV from EPEL. I know it's conflict with post mentioned in @annonman's link, please allow me to explain:

With the latest iRedMail release, EPEL is default third-party yum repository, iRedMail will try to install RPMs from EPEL first, if not available, iRedMail yum repo will provide it. So, please always install Amavisd, ClamAV from EPEL.

With EPEL, we can reduce our workload for building RPMs. And for you, EPEL is a big project sponsored by Red Hat, it's more trustable than me.

Thanks for your help on this.  I have looked through all the posts mentioned, but could not find a file name.  What file do you edit to set EPEL to default third-party yum repository?  (most articles on the web seem to involve removing EPEL entirely, etc)
