Hi,

I am seeing weird issue with my live mail server that many users have started receiving all E-mails from start to end frequently. It should only download new Emails except the ones which already had been downloaded. But users have started receiving all emails again on their outlooks/thunderbirds and there is no specific time or specific users who are facing this issue.

We do not use webmail client to access email as our Email policy/Security policy only allows using email application to be used to email communication.

maillog file also do not generate anything unusual.
Can anyone guide how to resolve this issue?

Was there any change applied to Dovecot config files?

No Zhang,

There is not single change have been done since last 40 days I think it suddenly started. However I did updated dovecot from yum update and through iredmail update repos nothing else.

i have got this problem before
the problem is > network connection is too slow or user have large email
check user mail (move it to another folder first) or try check the connection,
its work for me.

t10,

None of your solutions works for me.

I am having 40mb dedicated internet line that means my network is not slow even though I am connecting my mail server over local IP. There always be new emails for every users if they open their Outlook/Thunderbird first in the morning or frequently in day time, this does not have to start fetching every emails from server.

there may be a virus or malware
have you  try scan with an antivirus or other?

no virus or malware as my front is SonicWALL hardware firewall which handles everything for malicious things, i have never seen a single virus on my network since I placed firewall from last 4 years. Moreover do you think a virus or malware on server can push all emails frequently to users?

Hi,

are certain users only or randomly who had this problem?
have you ever try to change personal folder file to another pst file (outlook)?
maybe u can use another mail client such as evolution, incredimail or another kind for testing.

Users are random not fixed.

I am using outlook, evolutions and thunderbird applications. Also tried changing pst files but issue is still same and random. I also tried other mail clients also to check application issues. I don't know what is happening as no doubtful logs are being generated.
