Hello, I have a problem with a customer that sends mail via Exchange (local Exchange -> smtp out use my iredmail service).
The only problem is my client, because it all works from webmail. But if I can solve is better, as with the previous manager had no problem with the same configuration.

This is a test log from mail-tester.com .. say all ok ..

it seems that the message is non-existent email spam protection.
I tried to remove the header written with "local" but no work.

No idea? It seems exchange causes trouble.

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

Can Message-ID: <CC83D88F03D79A4187DD800E57BD491AE93A7F@wrxxxxxxSRV.wrxxxxxx.local> create problem?
x-originating-ip?

And why message is not dkim signed? Exchange break it?
How can I do to ignore iredmail all the custom tags that sect Exchange?

The smtp log error:
Mar 31 10:54:08 mx postfix/smtp[20597]: 9F3DECE3740: to=<paolo@renatxxxxxxxx.it>, relay=mail.renatoxxxxxxx.it[213.xxx.xxx.xxx]:25, delay=1.5, delays=0.04/0.01/0.29/1.2, dsn=5.0.0, status=bounced (host mail.renatoxxxxxxxx.it[213.xxx.xxx.xxx] said: 550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (in reply to end of DATA command))

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

I have no idea yet. Looks like an Exchange issue, but i'm not familiar with it, sorry. Not sure whether this post helps:

It's better to ask support from Exchange admin.

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

Hy ZhangHuangbin, thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, I provide only the mail service to all my clients, I do not have direct access to the exchange server in question.
The exchange of my client using my smtp server to send email.

I can not tell iredmail ignore custom tags added?

You can remove certain mail headers with Postfix header_checks(5): http://www.postfix.org/header_checks.5.html

But i don't think mail header causes this issue.

Hi ZhangHuangbin, I solved the problem.
I talked to system administrator of the mail server of the destination, the problem is

Message-ID: <CC83D88F03D79A4187DD800E57BD491AE93A7F@wrxxxxxxSRV.wrxxxxxx.local>

Some spam-test fail the reverse lookup of message-id tag and block the connection with 550 error.

If i remove the message-id tag with Postfix header_checks, iredmail create new one?
How can I tell iredmail to ignore the message-id provided and create him?

Best Regards.

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

Does it block your connection due to 'Message-ID' header, or the invalid hostname (wrxxx.local) in Message-ID? I guess it's the invalid hostname. Please contact this mail server admin again to get a clear answer.

For the invalid hostname in the Message-ID header. Some spam test of this server do reverse lookup of wrxxx.local and fail (This server has a low score to drop in spam).
I would like to remove it to prevent future problems with clients which do not have access to their server.

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

*) Postfix generates Message-ID with your server hostname. May i know what your server hostname is? You can get it with command "hostname -f".
*) What's the value of your Postfix parameter "myhostname"? You can get it with command "postconf myhostname".

Re: Delivery problem to custom mailserver destination and Exchange

1) My hostname is mx.tika**.it
2) Postfix hostname is mx.tika**.it

on my side it all looks ok

The Exchange server of my customer have "wrxxxxxxSRV.wrxxxxxx.local" on hostname.

But, why iRedMail does not recreate the message-id correctly and use the one provided by the Exchange??

If there's one, Postfix doesn't re-generate it or replace it.

You can use Postfix 'header_checks' to replace '.local' or the whole message-id. Reference:

Thanks for buying license of iRedAdmin-Pro.
But license of iRedAdmin-Pro doesn't include technical support for iRedMail.
