Topic: Can not receive email from some domain (SOLVED)

Hi,

i using ubuntu 8.10 and iredmail 0.5.0. Normally, this server is work very fine.
But i can not receive part of the email through some of domain like netvigator.com.
The sender said they did not have any bounced back messages.

Any suggestion to fix this problem??

Could you please paste related log content in /var/log/mail.log? so that others can help you solve it. smile

My colleague is using bc@abcd.com and bc@def.com. bc@abcd.com and bc@def.com are hosting in the same server.

These account send email to ac@xxx.com that ac@xxx can receive the email. But we can not receive any reply email from ac@xxx.com. The worst thing is ac@xxx.com think that this is our problem, they do not give any support.

In addition, i using the isp email server as smtp relay server only. Would  it cause any problem?

Is it possible to ask mail server admin of ac@ to provide related mail log?

i receive some bounce back message.

I check with the mail log, i find that my server alway stated smtpd[XXX]: lost connection after CONNECT from nz1inf01.smx.co.nz[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx].

I contact will the other email server administrator.
They said that their server can not receive any greeting message.
Are the iRedmail open any filter or firewall on ubuntu 8.10.
Since i already close the firewall function.
The server log always show anvil [xxx] xxxx max connection count 1/60 xxxxx, is it a problem???

You can use /etc/init.d/iptables to control firewall (iptables). rule file is /etc/default/iptables.

I already turn iptables to accept all traffic, but still have problem...

After transfer the OS from Ubuntu to CentOS........fixed.

May be your iRedAPD stop working.

try " /etc/init.d/iredapd status" to check the status of iredapd

if it showing stopped, try "/etc/init.d/iredapd start" to see the problem solve or not.

If the problem solved, make iRedAPD start when boot your server.# ---- on RHEL/CentOS ----
# chkconfig --level 345 iredapd on

# ---- on Debian/Ubuntu ----
$ update-rc.d iredapd defaults

# ---- on FreeBSD ----
# ---- Edit /etc/rc.conf, append below line ----
iredapd_enable='YES'
