Topic: clamav - freshclam errore - can't save PID to file[SOLVED]

I all guys, i have installad a fresh iredeos to build a test mail box, it's a very good piece of software smile

In my /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log there's an error:


ERROR: Can't save PID to file /var/run/clamav/freshclam.pid # /var/run/freshclam.pid: No such file or directory
freshclam daemon 0.96 (OS: linux-gnu, ARCH: i386, CPU: i386)
ClamAV update process started at Thu Apr  8 17:57:21 2010
main.cld is up to date (version: 52, sigs: 704727, f-level: 44, builder: sven)
daily.cld is up to date (version: 10716, sigs: 50151, f-level: 51, builder: ccordes)
bytecode.cvd is up to date (version: 5, sigs: 2, f-level: 44, builder: nervous)

How can i solve this problem ?

Does it work after restarting freshclam?

Hi Zhang, thx for your quick reply.

I have restarted freshclam several times but every time it write this error into the log file.

I found the root cause.

During iRedMail installation, it simply prepend new path of PID file like this:

PidFile /var/run/clamav/freshclam.pid # /var/run/freshclam.pid

Remove '#' and other words after it, it works.

Seems clamav-0.96 doesn't support comment in line now.

How did you get it to clamav 0.96 when I run yum update clamav clamav-db clamd it only updates to 0.95.3?
