Topic: /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts vs /etc/hosts

==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version: 0.8.7
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): LDAP
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: CentOS 6.6
- Related log if you're reporting an issue: mailllog
====

I added some hosts in /etc/hosts and after that postfix is complaining:
warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts and /etc/hosts differ

Why are there 2 files? Why not symlink /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts to /etc/hosts?

Can this be done safely?

Re: /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts vs /etc/hosts

Postfix by default is running under chroot in /var/spool/postfix, it requires some basic files. that's why.
If you modified /etc/hosts, simply copy it to /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts.
