Every day at 2pm, my server is just slammed with amavisd. I have changed the crontab to run the cleanup at a different time. This seems to be unrelated.

I need this task (whatever it is - to run in the wee hours of the morning, not primetime)

Please download 'cleanup_amavisd_db.py' below, then override the one on your server (/opt/www/iredadmin/tools/cleanup_amavisd_db.py):
https://bitbucket.org/zhb/iredadmin-ose … at=default

It has been rewritten to avoid performance issue.

Wanted to report back that this has resolved the issue, it does require a full reboot.
