Please check permissions of all directories in this url:

/var/vmail/vmail1/dccathome.com/p/o/s/postmaster-2015.08.19.10.55.15/Maildir/

Which means, check
/var/vmail
/var/vmail/vmail1/
/var/vmail/vmail1/dccathome.com/
...

I made some changes and this is probably all wrong now.
Here is what I have for the directories now:
/var/vmail drwxr-xr-x vmail vmail

2) cd /var
3) chmod 700 vmail
4) cd vmail

I can now send mail out. I am on a att.net home network using this so I use gmail as my smtp server. I cannot receive mail yet. Here is some info from my mail.log file:

I have tried many settings for chmod and chown for the permission denied error and can't figure out what is causing this issue.
I don't know if that is why it won't receive email or not.
Any help is appeciated.
I have also looked at posts in this forum and they didn't seem to help unless I missed something.

It also looks like now that it is sending mail out someone or something is trying to send mail out through google that isn't me.
I am getting several of these from differnent sources. Some are junk mail that looks like it is coming into my server and then trying to go back out.

Fix it with commands below:

cd /var/log/
touch dovecot{,-sieve,-lmtp}.log
chown vmail:vmail dovecot{,-sieve,-lmtp}.log

Although this does not help you directly, I strongly recommend reinstalling Debian and starting with fresh iRedMail. I use the same configuration and it is flawless, out of the box.

Migrate mails and accounts afterwards as described in the wiki.

Did you restart Dovecot service and try again?

I have reinstalled debian 8. I left my /home partition intact. I hope that is ok.
I am now going to install iRedMail again

Re install of OS and install of iRedmail worked.
Now it is time to learn all about this system. Make some tweaks.
