Hello,

I am planning to install iRedmail in my new VPS. This VPS will be used to send out around 3000 to 4000 emails per hour (advertisement emails of Meetings, Events etc) scheduled using Interspire Email Marketer software. Is this quantity supported by iRedMail ? Which version of iRedMail would you recommend for this purpose ?

By the way, These emails are not spams, but they are sent after authenticating with the SMTP server (legitimate emails).

*) It's support by iRedMail, of course.
*) The point is not which version of iRedMail, because all releases support it. The point is how much RAM you have on this server for this job. 2GB RAM is required for a low-traffic mail server, and you can tune some components to make it deliver faster.

Thanks for your reply. I have 8GB RAM. What are the tunings that I can do to make the delivery faster ? I definitely don't want the emails to end up as spams.

*) The biggest impact might be disabling spam/virus scanning for outgoing mails. this will speed up quite a lot. Reference:

I have done this one. But does disabling the Spam Scanning increases the chances of my own emails detected as Spam by the recipient domain ?

Also in the tutorial there is "[...OMIT OTHER SETTINGS HERE...]". What is meant by this ? Do I have to remove those settings above or leave it unchanged ?

In the performance tuning, I have done Updating the Amavisd + Postfix config files successfully.

I don't understand the option: "Enable postscreen service". Does enabling postscreen service instead of DNSBL Service improves the performance ? Or is it "Disable postscreen service" ? The tutorial is confusing. Please suggest.

No -- if you sent clean mails.

That just means i'm lazy and i didn't paste all settings here, you just use the existing settings there and focus on what need to be modified.

Sure. You can install a DNS server if you want.

I think it's clear in the tutorial:

Although both postscreen and pure DNSBL services uses the same DNSBL servers, but postscreen offers additional solutions to reduce spam, so postscreen is better.

Zhang,

Thanks for the replies.

We are having  a bounce processing system in the Interspire Email Marketer software. This marks the Email Id as "Bounced" , if the  email is bounced. The bounce processing is configured to work every hour and it looks at the Bounce Response Emails in the inbox and collect the bounced Email IDs. So will the Grey Listing prevents or delays the Bounce Response Emails from reaching the Inbox ? Do I have to disable the Grey Listing for the Bounce Processing to work properly ? I don't know if the Bounce Responses will try multiple times inorder to PASS the Greylisting.

You can manually whitelist IP address of your Interspire Email marketer software.

The Interspire Email Marketer and the iRedmail are installed on the same VPS.  I understand that the Greylisting works on the incoming emails. So we have to whitelist the incoming emails right ? Then only we will receive the Bounce Notification Emails in our inbox. Please clarify. Thanks.

If the ... Marketer software is running on localhost, there's no greylisting at all.
