Hi,

I recently installed iredmail for the first time.
Liked it,  installed it. But during the process I installed LDAP backend thinking it might be faster or better.

Right now I want to replace LDAP with MySQL without having to reinstall everything. Users and passwords are not important. They can always be recreated.

What I want to keep is my system. I have heavily configured postfix,  I trained thousands of messages to spamassassin, modified and added extra stuff to amavis and installed many packages via apt-get and cpan.  I don't want to loose these.

How can I remove anything and everything related to LDAP and install MySQL without breaking stuff?

iRedMail doesn't support switching backend database like you said, I'm afraid that you have to reinstall server OS, then install iRedMail. sad

Can't I just remove iredmail packages,  backup config directories and do a clean install?  Installing the whole OS with everything in it seems a bit extreme.

I'm afraid no.
