Topic: intermittent undelivered messages sending in yahoomail.

good day,

im having problem sending in yahoomail, sometimes it received but most of email did not. gmail works fine .. here's the log .. thanks for help..

thanks zhang for reply, i am running 2GB in a physical host, iredmail running in a vmware with 1GB in settings in vmware. i need to increase my physical memory and change the seetings in vmware?

clamav not recognized if i try that.?


after adding physical ram and change settings in vmware memory into 2GB. still when i use the above command  it says clamav unrecognized. and still yahoomail not recieving message from my iredmail.

On CentOS 6, the service name is 'clamd'. You should check directory /etc/init.d/.

service clamd restart

i tried to start services but there is an error

service clamd status
clamd is stopped

tried to troubleshoot..

after stopped amavisd  and tried to send a test message both in gmail and yahoo, both are not recieving.. after start again amavisd i recieved all my test message in yahoomail and gmail after a few minnutes tried to send message again yahoomail still not receiving. hmmm it seems that amavisd has a big effect and caused why yahoomail didn't received messages. amavisd is the main caused of intermittent undelivered messages in yahoomail? dont know the exact cause..

Amavisd calls ClamAV for virus scanning, if clamav service is not running, mail will be stopped in your queue.

since amavisd is already running .. and clamav is stopped and already tried to increase memory.. after service clamd start

any suggestion on how can i run clamav?.. amavisd and clamav are very important in  sending messages. and why only yahoomail affected in sending messages, why gmail works fine..

gmail works fine. but theres an error lost connection in mtaX.0000.yahoodns

Seems network issue, or Yahoo server doesn't like email from you (blacklisted or something like this).

tried to checked blacklisted in mxtool and it seems ok. tried contacted my ISP if there are problem in routing no reply at all. do you have any suggestion for troubleshooting it.. delay sending in yahoomail and sometimes no longer receive at all. in gmail message works fine i can receive about seconds only.

/var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts /etc/hosts -differ also found after restarting postfix which /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts is same as /etc/hosts


and i simply copy /etc/hosts  to /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts, restart postfix again and still "/var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts /etc/hosts -differ"  do you think it may affect and probably cause my problem.? but before it is normally running..

theres no difference.. just to make it sure i tried to copy /etc/hosts to var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts but still after restarting postfix "/var/spool/postfix/etx/host  /etc/hosts -- differ" appears on log..

This is normal, it always happens. Just force all users to use strong passwords.

Also, run Fail2ban service to scan log files and it will block bad clients automatically.
