Topic: fresh install and Password of cn=vmailadmin is incorrect.

- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.5-1
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 16.04
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): LDAP
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? NO
- Related log if you're reporting an issue:

Password of cn=vmailadmin is incorrect.
i check everything and add
= UPDATE =
This issue is fixed by adding below line in /etc/init.d/slapd, right after '### END INIT INFO':
### END INIT INFO
chmod 666 /dev/null /dev/*random
like in this post.

*) Was there any error on the console while performing iRedMail installation?
*) Any error in file iRedMail-0.9.5-1/runtime/install.log?
*) You can find the current password used in iRedAdmin config file, then reset password for cn=vmailadmin.

I use the good login and the good password and i got the same error

Connect to LDAP server with your preferred LDAP tool as LDAP root dn (cn=Manager,dc=xx,dc=xx), e.g. ldapvi, phpldapadmin, then modify password for cn=vmailadmin.

You can find password for cn=Manager,dc=xx,dc=xx in iRedMail-0.9.5-1/iRedMail.tips.

Hi Zhang,
I have the same problem with ubuntu 14.04 fresh server.
I setup  iRedmail all in one step by step follow iredmail.org guide. But the LDAP server can't connect to with DN=manager...... and password in iRedmail-x.y.z-tips

How do I can solve this problem?

*) yes i install on fresh ubuntu 14.04 server
*) i don't see any error in install.log and during installation


I have installed many and many times, but the same error. 2 year ago, i installed iRedmail very easy and success. But this issue happended 2 week ago.

Is it a new issue. Can you help me to fix it?

Is it a virtual machine? If yes, i'd like to try to install the latest iRedMail on it myself, so that i can exactly know what happened. Is it possible?

yes, you can try with virtual machine. because i deploy in cloud server.

i found that, when i install iRedmail all in one with OpenLDAP completely. I can't connect to ldap with the information in the iRedmail.tip

can you check that problem?

Did you have OpenLDAP server installed BEFORE iRedMail installation?

No, i didn't. I have installed in a CLEAR UBUNTU 14.04 cloud server yet

Please mail me your server info and ssh credential, make sure the VM is fresh and clean.
