Attachment is not splited from email, so it should be in user mailbox.

Re: iRedMail Attachment Storage Directory

Thanks for the speedy response.

1. For testing I sent the "putty.exe" file as attachment to "testuser". He has successfully received the mail and it is in the INBOX of that user and am also able to download the "putty.exe" attachment file. I searched inside all the dirs in testuser's Maildir but am unable to found the "putty.exe" attachment. So I did a "updatedb" and searched for "putty.exe" using "locate" command but with no success. Can you please point out what am doing wrong here.

2. Also during installation I accepted the default dir of "/var/vmail" for storage of mails but the mails are stored in the "/var/vmail/vmail1/<mydomain>/<username>/Maildir/" path instead of "/var/vmail/<mydomain>/<username>/Maildir/" path.I like to know if I'll be able to change the path to the later one. Thanks in advance.

Re: iRedMail Attachment Storage Directory

attachements are encoded in the email itself as a base64 encoded string, you cant serach for the files that are attached to a email

You don't need to change them, it's designed to append 'vmailX' after '/var/vmail', so that it's easy to attach addition storage/disks by mounting them under /var/vmail/vmail2/, /var/vmail/vmail3, etc.
