I've been playing around with iredmail the past few days to determine whether it will be a viable mail / web server solution for my servers. I've read through some of your help docs and struggled through some aspects myself.

Question: Can iredmail run correctly with spamassassin, clamd and amavis all disabled from startup and stopped?

I have read your help page on stopping it being used (disabling), however, that does not stop the services running and clamd using 500MB of RAM just sitting idle. Disabling those services makes iredmail capable of running on a server with only 512MB or RAM for single use client site/s.

The problem I keep running into to, is that it stops mail being sent. I have worked through some config files and commented out relevant lines related to them, yet haven't been able to fully work out a solution.
