Re: tmpreaper

It already shows you what you should do:

Please read /usr/share/doc/tmpreaper/README.security.gz first;
edit /etc/tmpreaper.conf to remove this message (look for SHOWWARNING).

Re: tmpreaper

That wasn't helpful!

Why are we receiving this message?
Is tmpreaper enabled by default?
For common mortals that might have a hard time understanding the text, what are the dangers?
What is iRedMail's recommendation?

Re: tmpreaper

Just a google away ...
read
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xen … onf.5.html
http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2013/10/tmpreaper-examples/

I guess it is part of the Ubuntu installation.  (and not iRedMail specific)
The reasson for that the message show up in the postmaster mailbox, is that it is aliased with root.
As it says in the message: read the README file, and then it suggests to remove these WARNING messages by modifying the tmpreaper config file.

Re: tmpreaper

tmpreaper is getting installed with iredmail, it's used as a dependency of SOGo I guess.

Just open the /etc/tmpreaper.conf file and it should be the first setting.
