Re: Bandwidth requirement for running mail server

Usually the file size of one mail message is just 10KB (plain message) to 20MB (with big attachments).
Do you have any idea how many emails the server will send and receive per day?

Re: Bandwidth requirement for running mail server

Per day at least 500 mails server will receive and send as the number of employees are in huge amount i.e. 1500+
and moreover they add around 10 persons in CC

Re: Bandwidth requirement for running mail server

I think it should be fine. but you need to calculate the mail message size yourself.

The messages are not sent at the same time, so usually your mail server is just processing few emails at the same time, and the bandwidth should be fine.

Re: Bandwidth requirement for running mail server

Usually emails are normal text messages but if someone is uploading 25MB of file,, then would 10Mbps leased line work efficiently ?

You have to calculate it and do some tests, i cannot guarantee without testing.
