Topic: compatibility with mailman?

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release):
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer?
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):
- Web server (Apache or Nginx):
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro?
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

Is iRedMail compatible with mailman?  I believe mailman essentially relies on /etc/aliases to pipe incoming list mail to the relevant modules. If that facility is bypassed, I assume it cannot function.

TIA

Re: compatibility with mailman?

It should work with mailman - just like a chain, and mailman could be part of it. BUT, iRedMail already integrates mlmmj mailing list manager, you can use mlmmj directly.

FYI: https://docs.iredmail.org/#integration

Re: compatibility with mailman?

Thank you. iRedMail is an impressive package.

The mailing list manager seems to be in the "pro" package, which would be good for a commercial site, but is far outside my budget for charity work.

I am slowly discovering what is included!  I am disappointed that the groupware component does not include some kind of forum or bulletin board. But first I need to discover how to add a user to it, then I will explore the options further.

mlmmj mailing list manager is a core component of iRedMail, you can manage mailing list with its command line tool.

FYI: https://docs.iredmail.org/integration.m … -line-tool
