I have a fresh install iredmal on FreeBSD 12. I notice that it's using Mysql instead of MariaDB.

root@yoda:~/iRedMail-0.9.9/runtime # mysql --version
mysql  Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.26, for FreeBSD12.0 (amd64) using  EditLine wrapper

Can I replace that with MariaDB? If yes which version of MariaDB should I use?

Thanks.

Yes.
Ideally any mariadb runs on FreeBSD should be ok.
