Topic: pysieved choosey authentication

hi

we have a nicely oiled iredmail installation however we are having just one problem with our server.

For certain users only, we get a "cannot connect to managesieve server" in roundcubemail.. i have used telnet to simulate a connection to the pyseived process.

This results in an authentication failed message being return.. why is this so? As other users work fine.

I have had a look at pyseived.ini and that suggests the user is authenticated via dovecot.. yet all users can connect via imap just fine.. please help!

problem solved..

in the allowed services section in each user account's imap record, some users had

sieve
sievesecured
managesieve
managesievesecured

.. the users that had issues and no filter just had

managesieve
managesievesecured

.. by adding sieve and sievesecured, then restarting pysieved, all users can now enjoy filtering.
