Topic: restore email from .97 to 1.3 question

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/i
redmail-release):
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer?
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):
- Web server (Apache or Nginx):
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro?
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.

My provider's hardware failed - thus killing my VPS.

I was running .97 with MySQL and Apache.  I'm planning on installing 1.3 with LDAP (hopefully allowing me to use group calendars).

My email was backed up from /var/vmail1 (or whatever the default was).

Can I install the new software and LDAP, creae all my accounts and then simply restore the backed up email files, or is there something that will prevent that related to LDAP vs MySQL or something else between .97 and 1.3?

I'd like to provision the server, install the new iRedMail, create accounts and restore the backed up emails.  Any issue with this plan?

Andrew

Re: restore email from .97 to 1.3 question

if you're going to recreate all mail accounts, then it's fine.
Just make sure the mailboxes are correctly restored to the maildir paths of newly created user accounts.
