Hello everyone,

I installed iRedMail and I can login from web browser using RounCube but Thunderbird (version 78.7.0) tells:

"Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password."

Even connecting directly to the IP instead of using the domain name.

Username and password are correct becausa I can correctly log in through RoundCube. There are no significant logs at dovecot or maillog. No firewall rules and nmap shows all needed port opened (unless pop3, only IMAP needed).

Does anybody knows the root cause of this issue?

Thanks in advanced.

Re: Can connect from RoundCube but not from Thunderbird

Hello,

Accessing via RoundCube (web browser), the bind search was looking for the service imapsecured. Using Thunderbird, the bind search was looking for the service imaptls, that was not in the schema.

Is this behaviour correct? Do I need any aditional script to update LDAP schema?

Thank you.

Re: Can connect from RoundCube but not from Thunderbird

- The "imapsecured" and "imaptls" should present in LDAP user account by default. What do you mean "update LDAP schema" here? did you check the LDIF data of this user account?
- Does stop "fail2ban" service temporarily on server fix the issue?
