Topic: Incoming mail unreliable

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.99
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer? installer
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Centos 7
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): LDAP
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? Yes
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

We're encountering a problem where inbound e-mail is unreliable.   People attempting to e-mail a recipient on the iRedMail server are receiving bounces with text:
timed out while sending MAIL FROM
Sometimes the bounce will indicate:
451 4.3.5 Server configuration problem

I can't seem to find anything in the logs which relate to this, but I could be missing something.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

Thanks,
Bob

It continues to get worse.   Now we can't send mail.   After a long pause Sogo displayed "4.3.5 Server Configuration Error".

This server is virtualized.   I've monitored the performance of the VM and am not seeing anything odd.   Out of the 64GB of ram allocated for this VM only about 16GB is used.   CPU utilization is usually 35 to 40%.   After a restart of postfix and dovecot the CPU is spiking at 100%.   I'm not sure why.

I'm going to try applying OS updates.   I'm running on updates from about 3 weeks ago.

Any error in /var/log/iredapd/iredapd.log?

Re: Incoming mail unreliable

This problem is occurring a lot, but I only have two exact times for when it happened.   The log shows nothing at these times.   Oddly, the logs seem to stop a few minutes before the problem.    My current temporary fix is to restart the server.   I basically see no activity in the log at the time of the error followed  by reboot info.
