Hiya,

As I couldn't configure the CentOS7-x64-minimal this time I tested RHEL {Red Hat Enterprises Linux 8.3 (Ootpa)} latest version updated. But I see the error below appeared:
https://ibb.co/MfPDjq9

You mentioned it's installable on RHEL, but even the RHEL installer gives an error. I tested on Virtual Machine and I already set my domain name as hostname as seen on the screenshot. May please advise on how to fix and test this RHEL, as this may give me a clue where am I wrong on CentOS-7-x64-minimal?

Tnx and best of luck

Using RHEL 8.3

Yet it says on this site RHEL 8 is supported by the installer wont run.

Wish we could get it fixed...

Re: Red Hat Enterprises Linux 8.3, Installer does not recognize this OS?

I have tried all other version of install packages for different mail servers and their step by step instructions and I have yet to find one other than iRedMail that works.     Linuxbabe has instructions for NGINX installs and then 1/2 way thru starts giving apache commands when apache isn't even installed.    If you try apache installs the packages have been upgraded and the directions have not so you end up searching all over to find the correct packages to install and then they don't work together..

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the install.sh to work with RHEL 8 so we don't get the error about versions.

I'm willing to donate to you for your efforts.

All of the Centos installation instructions should go away as Centos is being discontinued this year so why would you want to install a new mail server on an obsolete OS?

I see you updated your download page with my note that Centos is going to be obsolete.

I am moving to RHEL 8.3 because they are giving away 16 production licenses to developer accounts - see below.

Thank you.

For others - here is the information.

Red Hat is giving 16 production licenses away for free if you sign up as a developer.

Hiya @CL954

Thanks. I requested CentOS-7-x64-minimal installation to be added as it's supported through 2024.

I'm fine if the RHEL 8.3 is also works that I can keep it up as a backup plan.

The reason I decided this product was the security configurations, as security-wise this iRedMail maybe the higher option over other mail servers, if it works.

But I don't know what to do for updates as if I finally install and run this iRedMail ut I can't update it, that would be a big problem as well? I'm not sure if the update of each component separately will be fine, or we only shall update through the iRedMail updater, if there is ay?

Best of luck

Hiya @CL954

Do you referring to me or iRedMail owner by 'I see you updated your download page with my note that Centos is going to be obsolete.'??

For the RHEL freebies, the updates are not security and vulnerability patches. It's documented on the RHEL pages, thus I believe the server version is 'RHEL server' that is 350USD annually and this developer edition is nothing more than a home computer OS that does not have server-grade security vulnerability patches update for it?

Tnx and best of luck

Hiya @CL954

My main expectation is CentOS-7-x64-minimal, and RHEL 8.3 is more of a backup plan.

My main concern is, the product of the iRedMail owner does not respond to the troubleshooting messages that I left on my multiple posts, besides two of the posts. I don't know how to troubleshoot my case as the content on this website documentation is not covering them. I'm tired of the installation and configuration of this on my server as nothing works, no email is sent and no email is received in CentOS-7-x64-minimal? And there is no help to fix it?

Tnx and best of luck

Re: Red Hat Enterprises Linux 8.3, Installer does not recognize this OS?

Dear all,

The latest development edition works on RHEL 8.3, you can give it a try now:
https://github.com/iredmail/iRedMail/ar … master.zip

On RHEL 8, you must enable the Red Hat subscription and enable yum repository "codeready-builder-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms" and "epel" before running the iRedMail installer. It's mentioned in our installation tutorial:
https://docs.iredmail.org/install.iredm … w-packages

We will announce a new stable release in 2-3 weeks, maybe sooner.
