Hello,

after changing the following entries in "/etc/amavis/conf.d/20-debian_defaults"  6.31 -> 4.31 (that's all)

$sa_tag2_level_deflt = 6.31; # add 'spam detected' headers at that level
$sa_kill_level_deflt = 6.31; # triggers spam evasive actions

amavis does not start anymore, giving this error code:

Mar 25 01:16:59 mail systemd[1]: Starting LSB: Starts amavisd-new mailfilter...
Mar 25 01:16:59 mail amavis[4187]: Starting amavisd: Error in config file "/etc/amavis/conf.d/20-debian_defaults": Global symbol "$kill_inet_socket_port" requires explicit package name (did you forget to declare "my $kill_inet_socket_port"?) at /etc/amavis/conf.d/20-debian_defaults line 33.
Mar 25 01:16:59 mail amavis[4187]: (failed).
Mar 25 01:16:59 mail systemd[1]: amavis.service: Control process exited, code=exited status=1
Mar 25 01:16:59 mail systemd[1]: amavis.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.
Mar 25 01:16:59 mail systemd[1]: Failed to start LSB: Starts amavisd-new mailfilter.

Undoing the changes has no effect....

Thanks for your help!

Best

Re: amavis: error after changing tag2_level | kill_level

I guess you changed some other parameters but introduces wrong (Perl) syntax.
