====

I installed iredmail fresh on debian 11 ( Thas the reason I used the git repository )

When  I configure the postmaster account in Thunderbird I get (in thunderbird) the Message

This IMAP  server does not seem to support encrypted passwords. If you just set up the account, please try changing to 'Password, transmitted insecurely' as the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings'

I configured STARTTLS and Encrypted Password  I have an older iRedMail installation where this all works fine.

Thanks for listening !

I know that TLS is used to encrypt the mail, but 'Plaintext passwords' sounds a bit scary
