Topic: iRedMail IMAP Mailboxes Case-Sensitive?

- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release):  1.5.2
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer? download
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:  Ubuntu 20.04
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): PGSQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? No
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.

I found this article https://support.emclient.com/index.php? … -em-client

Are iRedMail mailbox names case sensitive? I have a script which is pre-written to check INBOX/JUNK and it can find INBOX but it says JUNK is not found.

Re: iRedMail IMAP Mailboxes Case-Sensitive?

Do these inboxes disappear if I disable postscreem/clamav/etc? Maybe that's why it says "not found":

[2022-05-24 05:44:20] - Mailbox doesn't exist: JUNK (0.001 + 0.000 secs).
[2022-05-24 05:44:20] - Mailbox doesn't exist: SPAM (0.001 + 0.000 secs).

I need to 100% ensure every single message goes to INBOX and no filtering happens, or, I need to make sure it can read from the JUNK folder.

So far I have followed:

Re: iRedMail IMAP Mailboxes Case-Sensitive?

It's case sensitive. JUNK should be Junk.
