Topic: Change hash SSHA512 for BCRYPT in linux system

- iRedMail version 1.6.0 MARIADB edition.
- Deployed with idownloadable installer
- Ubuntu 20.04 TLS
- MariaDB
- Nginx

After instal iRedMail on my system I see that  iRedMail, Postfix and Dovecot using older hash {SSHA512}

Also, I see that this is due to an old problem of the non-existence of the necessary libraries.

Linux has had these libraries for some years now, at least PHP supports them, and Linux too, since I have a machine with Postfix + Dovecot and both allow and recommend the use of BLF-CRYPT

I see doc Password hashes but I prefer to ask first.

Can iRedmail be modified to use BLF-CRYPT instead of SSHA512?

- If so, would it be enough to modify the dovecot files?
- Are there any other internal iredmail changes?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

SSHA512 is very secure and i dont see any need to change to another crypting algo, but even iredapd and i guess iredadmin should support bcrypt

Hi.

I see that only needs to change hash in vmail.mailbox.

I thought that some other configuration file of dovecot or other software had to be modified.

Thank you
