by default log file rotation of mail.log   runs once a week and retains 4 log files.

How do I increase the number of old log files to retain?

/etc/logrotate.d/  contains file configurations, but nothing about mail.log.

Create a new file under /etc/logrotate.d/ for mail.log to rotate it in preferred period.
