Topic: Postfix Error 451 while sending and some more errors

Hi there,

1. i really like iRedMail and will "donate" after these bugs have gone and this server works, promised!

so iam on debian squeeze with 0.7.0 stable.installed w. mysql backend and installd postfixadmin later.
while sending a mail iam gettin this:

SMTP Error (451): Failed to add recipient "ms@netzxperts.de" (4.3.5 Server configuration problem)

It's confirmed that this is a bug in iRedAPD rc script. You can solve it manually
with below steps:

- Download a new RC script for Debian or Ubuntu:

# wget http://iredapd.iredmail.googlecode.com/hg/rc_scripts/iredapd.debian

- Copy it to /etc/init.d/iredapd and set correct file permission:

# cp iredapd.debian /etc/init.d/iredapd
# chmod 0755 /etc/init.d/iredapd

- Make it auto-start with system startup:

# update-rc.d iredapd defaults

- Start it manually now:

# /etc/init.d/iredapd restart

That's all. Your mail server should work as expected now.

Thank you! Your fix runs well (used the manual fix, cause it was installed already).
But the following error is still there - is this critical?

Check whether you have correct mysql user and password in policyd config file: /etc/postfix-policyd.conf.
If user/password are correct, set "DEBUG=1" in config file, restart postfix-policyd service, check what it says in /var/log/mail.log.

it seems that the startup script runs too early (before mysql?) cause it says "connected" after a init.d/postfix-policyd restart command...

You're right. This is a minor bug in postfix-policyd rc script: /etc/init.d/postfix-policyd.

It has this line:

# Required-Start:    $remote_fs $syslog

Since it requires MySQL server, it MUST contain '$mysql' in this line. like below:

# Required-Start:    $remote_fs $syslog $mysql

i changed that line and also "update-rc.d postfix-policyd defaults" as root. but the error is still there sad

have now added

/etc/init.d/postfix-policyd restart

to /etc/rc.local - now policyd is up and running after a reboot.
the fix above doesnt really work! why?
