We have a very strange problem. We have about 30 domains and more than 100 mailboxes. The users from just one domain have the problem that they can not send email with attachments. (They use SMTP for sending.) In the logs we have always these messages:

Jun 13 13:15:34 s-glb-mail01 postfix/submission/smtpd[21894]: EC7D316E0120: client=unknown[1.2.3.4], sasl_method=LOGIN, sasl_username=user@company.com
Jun 13 13:15:54 s-glb-mail01 postfix/submission/smtpd[21894]: lost connection after DATA (65484 bytes) from unknown[1.2.3.4]
Jun 13 13:15:54 s-glb-mail01 postfix/submission/smtpd[21894]: disconnect from unknown[1.2.3.4]

The strange thing is that the number of bytes is always very low.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Re: One client can not send emails: lost connection after DATA

what do you mean with "they use smtp for sending"?
they need to use submission with starttls

seems like they have a malconfigured mail client

Re: One client can not send emails: lost connection after DATA

Is there a spam gateway sitting between MUA and MTA (iRedMail)?
Some spam gateway / firewall / filter may cause similar issue.

Sorry, it was too easy written. It is submission (port 587) with STARTTLS.

There is a firewall inbetween. But the firewall allows in this direction all traffic.
