Good afternoon
The IP address of my smartphone is blocked, which does not allow you to enter it through a smartphone. Both in the browser, via outlook and iOS Mail.
Looking in /var/log/fail2ban.log I saw that Dovecot was blocking me.

mail fail2ban.actions[691]: NOTICE [dovecot] Ban 74.200.174.321

When unlocking an ip using a code

fail2ban-client set dovecot unbanip 74.200.174.321

the lock is removed, but after five minutes it is added again.
Going into phpmyadmin in the "fail2ban" table, I find my ip in the "varhar" column

communications error to 127.0.0.53#53: timed out
;; communications error to 127.0.0.53#53: timed out
;; communications error to 127.0.0.53#53: timed out
;; no servers could be reached

Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Re: Fail2ban is blocking my smartphone

you probably have email configured on your iphone, and configured incorrectly.
review your setting and fix the problem there.

communications error to 127.0.0.53#53: timed out

did you configure your dns reslover on localhost?
if you don't run an own dns resolver, but configure to use one on localhost, this won't work

I did not make such settings. I went exactly according to the instructions and everything worked for me until the moment. Can you tell us in detail or send instructions on specific steps, please?

The iPhone has Outlook and iOS Mail. I deleted the accounts in them and removed myself from the blacklist. After a couple of minutes, he added me there again

Re: Fail2ban is blocking my smartphone

I was able to find a solution. The application, iOS Mail, carried out authorization of the mail account, which gave an error, but the application did not issue a warning or a window. After deleting all accounts and leaving them in Outlook, they stopped adding me
