Hi,

I am planing to upgrade our Mailserver from Debian 11 to 12. Debian 12 is the recommended version at the moment, but there is no upgrade document. Is there nothing to do after upgrading or is the doc missing?

Thanks, best
Jochen

We don't have a detailed OS upgrade tutorial for Debian 12 yet.
Old tutorials are available though:

- 8 - 9: https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.debian.8-9.html
- 9 - 10: https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.debian.9-10.html
- 10 - 11: https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.debian.10-11.html

Yes, I saw those and that made me ask for 11 -> 12 ;-)

Would you recommend to update now or wait for the tutorial?

Re: Upgrade to Debian 12 Todos

if your mail server is a VM, then you can make a snapshot and give it a try to upgrade. Revert if unsuccessful.
Otherwise better wait for tutorial, 11 debian is still pretty norm to use.

Of course you can upgrade now, just pay close attention to log files, then fix issues reported in log files one by one.
