Topic: Emails are re-downloading in outlook after migration on new server .

After iredmail server migration all mails are re-downloading in outlook and Thunderbird. Is there any way to disable re-downloading the emails which are already downloaded from previous server.

Are you using POP?
With IMAP I have not had this problem after migrating to my new server.

Yes we are using POP because IMAP sync email from server and it's consumed more bandwidth

pop just pulls and doesnt leave a copy, nor cares about duplicates

If IMAP UIDs were changed after migration, then MUA usually considers them as new emails, hence it re-downloads them.

I have just installed another iredmail server and restored existing server database and email.
